Regulatory & Compliance
Our Commitment to Environmental
Compliance
In today's business climate, with so
many changes in environmental laws, it's wise to regularly
audit the recycler you choose for your company. We encourage
this practice and invite your questions and inquiries. We're
proud of our safety & environmental record. As the petroleum
recycler for a number of Fortune 500 companies and regional
municipalities, we're recognized for unique expertise and
responsible operations.
We Are
Proud of Our Safety & Environmental Record
An approved "Off-Specification Fuel
Burner", Oil Re-Refining Company uses no natural gas
or virgin fuels for power. We convert wastes into energy to
run our plants. The most aggressive waste reduction practices
in our industry minimizes land-filling wastes and limits liability.
We treat wastewaters contaminated with oils & fuels, we
remove and remove 99% of the contaminants before discharging
treated waters to the city sewer under a Continuous Discharge
Permit. With capacity and expertise to treat 5 million gallons
of industrial water yearly, we've won five recent Awards For
Excellence from the City of Portland's Bureau of Environmental
Services. All of our facilities are fully insured (including
pollution protection insurance) and operate under an Oregon
Dept. of Environmental Quality endorsed Facility Management
Plan.
Our Compliance Manual is a direct response to many of the
most commonly asked questions raised by our environmental
managers and customers that audit our facilities. It is designed
to be a ready reference for your convenience. Should you need
more detailed information, please do not hesitate to contact
our compliance department to obtain that service.
